One thing we've learned through these past few months of uncertainty is the importance
of self-care. Sometimes we need to take a step back to evaluate our situation and take
some time to close our eyes, breathe, and look after what's important to us.
I am an avid believer in natural remedies particularly for their qualities which influence stress, anxiety, and restlessness.
Stress and anxiety have a hugely negative effect on our bodies, transmitting chemicals to our brain which affect not only our mood and positive thinking but also our appetite and passion for life. When we breathe in essential oils; our scent receptors send chemicals to the limbic system, which is the part of the brain which controls our basic emotions and memories, this then impacts the brain's chemical production which affects our mental and physical health. Introducing aromatherapy into our day-to-day lives can be beneficial to counteract some of the negative effects of stress and set us on a path for better wellbeing. Here is a list of our top five essential oils for the mind.
